We talk about customization throughout this website. It’s a philosophy that is represented through our exclusive Trial Suit offer, our extensive selection of the finest fabrics, and our eagerness to work with our clients to bring ideas to life.
But what does our offer of ‘endless customization’ really mean?
While there are technically 3 types of tailored suit options, because of our commitment to customization, King & Bay Custom Clothing only focusses on Custom and Bespoke garments. Some quick definitions will reveal why Custom and Bespoke tailoring offer many advantages:
Made to Measure: MTM suits start from an existing pattern or template. Some adjustments are possible, but real customization is not part of the MTM offering. Even something as simple as moving a button hole up or down so a jacket sits just right, is generally not possible. MTM stops well short of a custom clothing experience.
Custom Tailored: Custom tailoring starts with a dream or an idea; and then precise, personal measurements are taken. At any time in the process of designing and fitting a custom suit, one can adjust – or customize – almost any component. (A partial list of customizable elements is offered below.) Custom tailoring can take a garment anywhere that your body type, your style and your imagination suggests.
Bespoke Tailoring: Bespoke is often thought of as the gold standard of men’s tailoring in which a suit is drawn, cut and sewn by a single master tailor. While often more expensive and requiring more lead time, the Bespoke process also allows for endless customization and the opportunity to create an individual and beautifullyfitted garment.
